The President and CEO of Saudi Aramco, Engineer Amin Hassan Nasser, announced the establishment of a large center for individuals with special needs in Al-Ahsa. The center will provide high-quality educational, therapeutic, and behavioral services that meet global standards, and will offer technical and vocational training opportunities for people with special needs.
This announcement was made during the opening ceremony of the Al-Ahsa Investment Forum, organized by the Al-Ahsa Chamber of Commerce in its sixth edition, under the patronage of Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of the Eastern Province, and attended by several ministers, officials, experts, consultants, and a distinguished group of local and international business leaders and executives.
Saudi Aramco’s participation as a strategic partner in the forum aims to highlight its role in supporting investment opportunities in the energy sector, and in the economic development of the Kingdom, particularly Al-Ahsa Governorate, in alignment with national goals.
The new center will be established in two phases; the first phase is expected to accommodate 330 students and is planned to be completed by 2025, with the second phase accommodating the same number, totaling 660 beneficiaries. The center is expected to cover an area of over 60,000 square meters in the heart of the Al-Mubarraz complex of Saudi Aramco.
Nasser stated, “Saudi Aramco aims to focus on the abilities of our sons and daughters with special needs, equipping and training them with skills that enable them to enter the job market and live dignified lives.” He added, “Observers of the recent transformations in Al-Ahsa will recognize it as a land of promising investment opportunities, with a significant share of conventional and unconventional oil and gas, a rich agricultural sector, and a vibrant heritage and tourism sector. Additionally, its strategic location and the presence of the Al-Uqair port have made Al-Ahsa an important center for trade exchange.”
