The Association for Mobility Disabilities for Adults “Harakia” has been awarded second place in the Excellence Award for Serving Special Needs Pilgrims. This award was recently announced by the National Center for the Development of the Non-Profit Sector in partnership with the Guest of Allah Program during a ceremony held as part of the fourth edition of the Hajj Conference and Exhibition in Jeddah. The event was attended by Deputy Executive Vice President for Development Sector, Majid Bin Nasser Bouniha, and CEO of the Guest of Allah Program, Engineer Mohammed Abu Alkhair Ismail.
This recognition comes as a continuation of Harakia’s efforts to provide its services and programs to beneficiaries with the highest standards of quality, enabling them and improving their quality of life. Among these efforts is the Hajj program, through which the association annually organizes Hajj trips for beneficiaries, stemming from the national initiative launched by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for the Hajj of special needs individuals.
Harakia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, aims to facilitate the performance of the Hajj rituals for those with mobility disabilities, instilling the principles of the true Islamic religion and sound doctrine in the hearts of these individuals, enhancing their spiritual aspect, and fulfilling their wish to visit the Holy House of Allah.
Over the past nine years, Harakia has worked on providing the means for those with mobility disabilities to perform the fifth pillar of Islam with ease and without hardship. This has been achieved by providing suitable and prepared accommodations in Mecca and the holy sites, modern and equipped vehicles for transportation within the holy sites, special pathways to perform the rituals inside the holy sites and stone-throwing in cooperation with security agencies, and offering all necessary health and living services.
Additionally, Harakia offers awareness and educational programs, seminars, lectures, and cultural competitions before and during the Hajj. This ensures that the Hajj journey is well-prepared from the arrival for the farewell Tawaf to the completion of the Hajj rituals and farewell to the Holy House of Allah.
Engineer Nasser Al-Mutawa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Harakia, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince for their continuous care and support for individuals with special needs.
He confirmed that the success of Harakia and its fellow associations is due to the continuous support and distinguished care from the wise government, represented by the regional emirates and relevant ministries, as well as the contributions of benefactors and entrepreneurs. He prayed for Allah to accept everyone’s good deeds, to continue blessing our beloved country with security and stability, and to grant us gratitude for His blessings and righteous worship.
