Deputy Governor of Marib, Dr. Abdulrab Muftah, inaugurated the Hessa Bint Abdullah Al-Attiyah Center for Orphan Care, funded by the Kuwaiti charity Insan and implemented by the Kafil Humanitarian Development Foundation. This is part of a series of humanitarian and development projects aimed at supporting the Yemeni people amidst the challenging circumstances facing the country.
The center includes comprehensive modern facilities, including a school building with 12 classrooms equipped with educational tools, student housing, a fully furnished kitchen, a men’s mosque, a women’s mosque, employee housing for 20 staff members, an apartment for the guard, and a sports field.
Dr. Abdulrab Muftah stated that the inauguration and funding of such a project are of great importance given the challenges faced by orphans in the governorate. The center provides a safe and integrated environment to compensate for the loss of family, offering education and proper upbringing opportunities to build a dignified life and a promising future.
The Deputy Governor of Marib appreciated this generous support, affirming that Kuwait has always been and continues to be a living example of sustainable humanitarian and development support in Yemen, especially in Marib. Kuwait’s projects include building schools, establishing hospitals, drilling wells, and providing food relief to those in need, among other developmental and humanitarian initiatives.
Sultan Jabari, Project Manager at the Kafil Humanitarian Development Foundation, praised the leading role of the State of Kuwait, especially the Insan Charity, in implementing quality projects that address the needs of the most vulnerable groups in Yemeni society. He noted that this project is an extension of Kuwait’s efforts to support education and social development in Yemen.
The center’s opening, which initially includes around 120 students, is part of a series of developmental and humanitarian projects funded by the Kuwaiti Insan Charity, significantly improving the lives of thousands of Yemenis through various humanitarian and developmental projects across different Yemeni governorates.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several local officials, representatives of humanitarian organizations, and social figures. During the ceremony, attendees expressed their deep appreciation for Kuwait’s continuous efforts in supporting various charitable, developmental, humanitarian, and educational sectors.
This project, costing two million Saudi riyals, aims to enhance the psychological and social stability of orphaned children and provide educational and developmental opportunities to build their future.
Kuwait continues to enhance its humanitarian efforts in Yemen despite challenges, reaffirming its supportive stance for the Yemeni people, reflecting the strong fraternal relations between the two countries.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Director General of the Social Affairs and Labor Office, Mr. Abdulhakim Al-Qaisi, and the Secretary General of the Kafil Humanitarian Development Foundation, Mr. Mohammed Makharch.
