Wafaa Al-Muhaya, Director General of the Public Authority for Special Needs Affairs, confirmed the signing of a cooperation memorandum between the Authority and the National Integrity Society to implement the Integrity Enhancement Project. The signing ceremony was attended by the Society’s General Manager, Mohammed Al-Otaibi, and Secretary General, Hamoud Al-Enzi.
She stated that the signing of the memorandum aligns with the directives of Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila, Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood, to work on enhancing integrity, combating corruption, and taking all necessary preventive measures to build integrity and enhance transparency in all important procedures and transactions of the Authority for Special Needs Affairs. She noted that the implementation would be in the sectors of medical, psychological, and social services, care centers, and the educational and rehabilitation services sector.
Al-Muhaya emphasized that this initiative stems from the Authority’s belief in the role of civil society and partnership with public benefit associations to achieve goals, advance institutions, and enhance continuous efforts in promoting integrity, transparency, and combating corruption.
She explained that the project aims to analyze and study the procedures and transactions followed to fortify them, raise levels of integrity and transparency, and review to assess, identify, and control any potential corruption incidents or situations to activate preventive tools for raising integrity levels across the Authority’s sectors.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Al-Otaibi, President of the National Integrity Society, expressed his pride in signing the cooperation memorandum with the Public Authority for Special Needs Affairs to enhance transparency in financial disbursements for special needs individuals according to international standards and local regulations. He highlighted that the political leadership and government are keen to provide all services and assistance to ensure a dignified life for citizens with special needs.
Al-Otaibi pointed out that the Society’s role is to provide awareness, conduct studies, and present proposals to the Authority to ensure safe financial disbursements in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs to develop the disbursement mechanism and ensure its continuity.
