Mohamed Gibran, Minister of Labor, and Dr. Iman Karim, General Supervisor of the National Council for people with Disabilities, signed a cooperation protocol on Sunday at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. The protocol aims to integrate individuals with special needs into the labor market.
According to the Ministry’s statement, this protocol aligns with the state’s commitment to human development, enhancing rights, and following the directives of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to increase employment rates for individuals with special needs and integrate them into the labor market.
Minister Gibran stated that, under this protocol, the Ministry is committed to organizing employment forums to enhance the participation of individuals with special needs. The Ministry will make its training centers available to implement training programs aimed at these individuals, train them for suitable professions, and announce job vacancies and employment opportunities suitable for individuals with various types of special needs.
The Ministry will also provide legal awareness on the Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities concerning training and employment, and the relevant labor law and legislations, which pertain to the rights and duties of these individuals.
Dr. Iman Karim emphasized that, under this protocol, the National Council is committed to implementing awareness programs for those involved in training and employment processes, including state administration employees, business owners, and individuals with special needs.
These programs will cover the Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the best ways to interact with individuals with different types of disabilities, and participation with the Ministry in organizing awareness seminars for individuals with special needs about the importance of their participation in the labor market and the benefits they can gain. The Council will also inform them about suitable training and employment opportunities.
Moreover, the Council will collaborate with the Ministry in announcing job vacancies and employment opportunities, and adopting policies and strategies that promote the empowerment and integration of individuals with special needs into the labor market.
