The Human Rights Commission and the Human Rights Commissioner of the Republic of Tajikistan signed a memorandum of understanding in Riyadh today. The agreement was signed by Her Excellency Dr. Hala bint Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri, President of the Human Rights Commission, and His Excellency Omid Babazadeh, Human Rights Commissioner of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The memorandum included encouraging both parties to cooperate in building the capacities of their employees in various human rights-related fields, and exchanging expertise, programs, and joint projects in the field of studies and working on disseminating them.
The memorandum also highlighted the benefit of both parties’ expertise to promote awareness of human rights culture, exchange visits and invitations to attend joint seminars, training programs, meetings, and conferences held by either party, and to review the best practices within their competencies.
In the information field, the memorandum emphasized the importance of exchanging statistics, reports, media publications, and scientific research, contributing to the enhancement and protection of human rights on the ground, and working on promoting awareness of the rights of special needs, children, women, the elderly, and other rights.
The signing of the memorandum falls within the framework of the Commission’s cooperation in the field of human rights with national, regional, and international organizations and institutions working in this field to achieve its goals and enhance its relationships with international bodies and governmental and non-governmental institutions to protect and promote human rights.
