Khalil Mohamed Khalil, Head of the Central Administration for Persons with Disabilities at the Ministry of Social Solidarity, stated that there has been unprecedented attention to individuals with special needs by the political leadership since 2014 until now.
During a phone interview with Dr. Fahmy Bahgat on the “Al-Mahawir” program broadcast on “Al-Shams” TV, Khalil added that the Ministry of Social Solidarity has issued 1.2 million comprehensive services cards, which are the only means for individuals with special needs to access all health services, customs exemptions on assistive devices, transportation discounts, and educational integration.
He explained that individuals with special needs receive the comprehensive services card after undergoing a medical examination. He noted that the Minister of Social Solidarity has directed the preparation of a tracking system, allowing citizens to monitor the stages of preparing the comprehensive services card until they receive it.
