National Bank of Kuwait Distributes Race Numbers for the National Running Event.
The National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) will receive registered participants for the 2024 NBK Run today and tomorrow, Friday, from 3 PM to 9 PM beside the Kuwait Towers, to distribute race numbers. Each participant in the race is required to wear the number they receive upon registration, which includes a smart chip allowing the organizing committee to track the time it takes for each participant to complete the race distance.
The race, scheduled for December 14, will start at 8:30 AM with two distances. The starting and finishing lines will be at the Kuwait Towers. The first distance is 10 kilometers, beginning at the Kuwait Towers, heading towards Souk Sharq, then turning back. Participants will continue running on Arabian Gulf Street until they reach 200 meters before the Green Island intersection, before returning to the Kuwait Towers.
The second race distance is 5 kilometers, from the Kuwait Towers to Souk Sharq, then turning back and continuing to run until reaching the Officers Club. The race will reward the top three winners in the men’s and women’s categories for the 10-kilometer distance with cash prizes of 1000, 700, and 500 Kuwaiti Dinars, respectively. The top three winners in the men’s and women’s categories for the 5-kilometer distance will receive 500, 400, and 300 Kuwaiti Dinars, respectively.
The bank highlighted its significant partnership with EQUATE Petrochemical Company in the NBK Run, marked by the inclusion of the special needs category among the race participants. EQUATE sponsors participants in this category within three groups: “wheelchair users, visually impaired, and those with prosthetics.”
The company will offer cash prizes to the top five winners in each of the three special needs categories for both men and women for the 5-kilometer distance, with prizes of 500, 400, 300, 100, and 100 Kuwaiti Dinars, respectively. Additionally, strategic partner Ooredoo will provide the top three winners with iPhones, Apple Watches, and subscriptions to their comprehensive plans.
The closing ceremony of the NBK Run will include several valuable and unique draws that participants are eligible for simply by registering for the race. Strategic partner Al-Babtain Group offers a 2024 Nissan X-Trail car, while Ooredoo provides an exceptional chance to win a platinum line worth 5,000 Kuwaiti Dinars.
The Touristic Enterprises Company will provide 18,000 entry tickets to its facilities and gardens (Winter Wonderland project and South Sabahiyah Park) to all registered participants in this year’s NBK Run. Moreover, prizes will be offered by Ali Abdulwahab Al-Mutawa Company through its brands “Intersport” and “Joe & The Juice” to participants in the draws. Chips will also present a selection of Apple devices to two winners.
The draws for these prizes, offered by strategic partners during the closing ceremony, will include all registered participants in the race. The draws will be conducted under the supervision of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The ceremony will also feature surprises and other entertaining activities.
The race is part of NBK’s annual social initiatives, reaffirming its steadfast approach to community development. The bank’s initiatives encompass various social, humanitarian, charitable, educational, sports, and environmental activities aimed at serving and contributing to the community’s better development.
