The President of the Saudi Federation for Visual Special Needs, His Excellency Khalid Al-Fuhaid, along with Dr. Khalid Al-Asiri, President of Al-Taif Club, crowned the Al-Ahsa Special Needs Club as champions of the Third Open Judo Championship for Visual Special Needs. The tournament was held in Taif from March 13–14, 2025, with the participation of nine entities from across the Kingdom.
With a strong performance, the Al-Ahsa Club’s athletes claimed the highest number of gold medals, earning the team this well-deserved victory amidst an atmosphere of intense competition and great enthusiasm from all participants.
The achievement was made possible through the collective efforts of many, including the Club’s Chairman of the Board, Abdulrahman Al-Dhiab; board members; Games Director Khalid Al-Akkas; Captain Mohammed Hazazi; and administrators Hussein Al-Essa and Hayam Al-Mousa.
The Third Open Judo Championship for Visual Special Needs, where Al-Ahsa Club emerged victorious, is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader efforts to promote inclusivity in sports. The event, held in Taif, showcased the remarkable talents of athletes with visual special needs, emphasizing the importance of providing opportunities for all individuals to excel in competitive sports.
The championship is aligned with the goals of organizations like the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA), which supports sports for individuals with visual impairments globally. Events like these not only highlight the athletic abilities of participants but also foster a sense of community and empowerment.
