The “For Every Spring a Flower” program, a member of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development, announced the launch of the 19th edition of the Green Tent, which is held annually during the holy month of Ramadan. The events will start from tomorrow, Monday, and include 11 discussion sessions with the participation of experts in various fields, both in-person at the Sealine Sports Club (Mowater) and virtually through video conferencing.
Dr. Saif Ali Al-Hajri, the program’s chairman, stated during a press conference that the Green Tent addresses a number of topics beneficial to the community. Over the past 18 editions, it has accumulated a wealth of expertise and topics, which have been instrumental in conveying the recommendations of experts and participants to the relevant authorities.
He added that this year’s edition continues to blend remote participation with direct in-person interaction during the sessions. The program has attracted over 110 scientists and experts from various countries around the world, aiming to expand the network of relationships and benefit from their knowledge. He expressed his gratitude to the Sealine Sports Club (Mowater) for providing the opportunity to organize the sessions at the club’s headquarters.
Dr. Al-Hajri explained that this year’s Green Tent sessions will cover 11 topics, starting with the duties and positions of Muslims towards the issues of the Ummah. The second session will address health guidelines for fasting during Ramadan, while the third session will focus on the historical reading of archaeological inscriptions in the Arabian Peninsula.
The tenth session will discuss the readiness of individuals with special needs for digital accessibility, and the final session on the 19th of Ramadan will be a poetry evening featuring several Qatari and Arab writers and poets.
Khalid Saeed Al-Shoaibi, one of the founders of the Green Tent, confirmed that the program’s activities aim to achieve the highest benefit for the audience during the holy month of Ramadan by offering diverse sessions on various topics. He praised the efforts of the Sealine Sports Club (Mowater) in supporting the program.
Mohammed Hashem, the program coordinator, emphasized the importance of making the Green Tent a comprehensive space that accommodates different perspectives and supports environmental and social initiatives, contributing to a more sustainable future for the coming generations.
