The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced the provision of a comprehensive set of services at the Grand Mosque, aimed at facilitating the performance of religious rituals for individuals with special needs, ensuring a complete and comfortable experience that meets all their needs during their sacred journey.
The ministry aims to provide an inclusive and accommodating environment for all visitors to the Grand Mosque with special needs. This includes facilitating movement through the use of electric and manual wheelchairs, as well as providing designated areas for tawaf (circumambulation), sa’i (ritual walking), prayer, and mobility, ensuring ease in performing the rituals.
The religious experience has been enriched by offering sign language and Braille translations for Qurans, guidebooks, lectures, and sermons to ensure easy understanding and access to religious content for all visitors.
In the context of improving services, the ministry has provided assistive tools for individuals with special needs, such as hearing aids, special equipment for tayammum (dry ablution), and canes for the visually impaired, in addition to specially designed doors for wheelchairs to facilitate movement within the Grand Mosque.
The ministry emphasized that these services are offered with dedication and care to ensure that individuals with special needs can perform their rituals with peace of mind and comfort, with guides and companions available to provide support and direction at all stages of the journey.
