The Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee launched the “Inclusion of Individuals with Special Needs in Sports Volunteering” initiative. In its first phase, 20 individuals with special needs volunteered to organize the Formula E race, which concluded in Jeddah.
This initiative, carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports office in Jeddah and the Jeddah Club for Special Needs, is part of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee’s efforts to include and empower individuals with special needs in the sports sector, particularly in sports volunteering.
The volunteers participated in introductory workshops on the principles and basics of volunteer work before the race started. They contributed to crowd management and directed different audience groups to their designated areas.
