An exhibition of fine arts titled “Color of Freedom” was inaugurated at the Old City Hall on the seafront in the city of Tartous, featuring the participation of 11 talented individuals from the Children of Love Association for individuals with special needs. They presented around 100 artworks inspired by the Syrian revolution.
The exhibition, organized in collaboration between the artist Layal Bou Hassan and the Color of Freedom team, focused on depicting the stages of the Syrian revolution through prominent symbols and figures, with several paintings showcasing the new flag and its symbolism.
Children with special needs, such as Hani Mohamed, Rahaf Hadla, and Hassan Youssef, participated in expressing their dreams and hopes. Meanwhile, students like Mira Maalla, Hassan Saleh, and Ali Abu Rahal emphasized the importance of their participation in creating drawings that reflect their joy of liberation, using various artistic techniques such as charcoal and colored pencils to depict the symbols of the revolution and Syrian historical landmarks.
Participants Aya Daqmaq, Selin Al-Domati, and Noor Hilal from the faculties of Architecture and Commerce and Economics, also highlighted the significance of portraying the revolution’s figures, especially the Syrian woman and her prominent role over the past years.
Artist Layal Bou Hassan, the curator of the exhibition, explained that the exhibition includes a collection of artworks that reflect the participants’ visions of the revolution and liberation, embodying the role of fine arts as a means of expressing societal issues.
