The national team player for the Omani Paralympic Games “Sami Al Salimi” won a bronze medal in the 20 km time trial at the 13th Asian Handcycling Championship, which is currently being held in Thailand. Al Salimi competed against experienced handcyclists from Thailand, India, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates1. Despite facing strong competition, he delivered an impressive performance that secured his spot on the podium.
This achievement comes as a result of the Omani Paralympic Committee’s commitment to supporting athletes with special needs and involving them in various championships.
Mansoor Al Touqi, Chairman of the Oman Paralympic Committee, expressed pride in Al Salimi’s achievement, highlighting his determination and resilience. Al Salimi is also set to compete in the grueling 62 km race, one of the toughest events in the championship1.
