His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, Governor of Al-Ahsa, at the Governorate’s headquarters, launched the “Rehabilitation through Entertainment” program for special needs individuals in its second edition for 2025 in Al-Ahsa today, Wednesday. The program is organized by the Friends of Special Needs Association in Riyadh, in cooperation with the Al-Ahsa Governorate. The event was attended by Her Royal Highness Princess Ghadeer bint Abdullah bin Saud, Chairperson of the Association’s Board of Directors, Her Royal Highness Princess Dania bint Abdullah bin Saud, the Executive Director of the Association, along with several association members, beneficiaries, and volunteers.
His Highness highlighted the significant support provided by the wise leadership for individuals with special needs in various health, educational, social, and entertainment sectors. He emphasized the importance of empowering and integrating them into a vibrant and healthy society in line with the goals of Vision 2030. He praised the significant efforts made by the association in organizing quality events that contribute to raising community awareness and improving the quality of life for individuals with special needs.
His Highness expressed his appreciation for the achievements of individuals with special needs, which are a source of pride. He noted that these achievements reflect the importance of supporting, motivating, and encouraging them to achieve further success and excellence. He pointed out the active and continuous role played by individuals and institutions in developing this group and fulfilling their aspirations. His Highness explained that this program is a living example of how real change can be achieved in the lives of these individuals through activities and programs that combine entertainment and rehabilitation.
For her part, Her Royal Highness Princess Ghadeer bint Abdullah bin Saud, Chairperson of the Association’s Board of Directors, confirmed that the program aims to execute a rehabilitation and entertainment journey for special needs individuals in cooperation with the Al-Ahsa Governorate and related entities. She pointed out that entertainment opportunities tailored to their specific needs are provided in a supportive and safe environment. She noted that the program helps enhance social interaction among participants, aiding them in forming new friendships and fostering a sense of belonging and solidarity within the community, in addition to discovering the diverse local cultural heritage.
In conclusion, the Friends of Special Needs Association presented a commemorative shield to His Highness the Governor of Al-Ahsa in appreciation of his sponsorship and interest in the association’s work in the governorate. The program’s second edition includes visits to several archaeological and tourist sites in the Al-Ahsa Governorate, with 15 special needs beneficiaries participating along with their companions.
