Oman’s national special needs team secured two silver medals at the Sharjah International Para Athletics Forum. The Omani Paralympic Committee’s participation in the championship is part of its preparations to provide an optimal environment for athletes to compete in the upcoming West Asia Paralympic Games, which Muscat will host in 2026. The two silver medals were won by Saif Al-Muqbali, who achieved silver in the 200m race for the T46 category, and Taha Al-Harassi, who secured silver in the 100m race for the T36 category.
In another event, athlete Sami Al-Salimi is participating in the Asia Handcycling Championship in Thailand, held from February 6 to 10. The Omani Paralympic Committee’s delegation for the championship includes, in addition to athlete Sami Al-Salimi, Ali Al-Ankoudi, the technical supervisor for the player, and Adnan Al-Awaidi, the head of the delegation. The Omani Paralympic Committee looks forward to achieving good results in the championship, as the athlete defends his Asian achievement from 2024.
