The Kuwait Football Association held the first football festival for special needs individuals, both males and females, in cooperation with the First Step team for disease prevention and the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. The event took place at Kazma Club Hall, with the participation of 80 players in a friendly match aimed at integrating special needs individuals into the community.
Hanan Al-Hardan, a member of the Football Association’s Board of Directors, the Head of the Women’s Committee, and a member of the Women’s Committee in the Asian Football Confederation, stated that the cooperation with the First Step team and the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation was aimed at creating a beautiful competitive sports environment. All participants were honored with medals and tangible prizes to encourage their participation and play, which contributed to their recreation and integration into society.
Bader Al-Fadhli, the team leader, expressed his gratitude to the Kuwait Football Association for their kind sponsorship and support, which benefits the special needs community. He noted that the joint cooperation would continue in this area to achieve the establishment of a dedicated football league for special needs individuals.
