Sheikh Ali bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Head of the Municipality Department in Umm Al Quwain, attended the “Determined to Make a Difference” exhibition organized by the Umm Al Quwain Cultural and Creative Center. The exhibition aims to enhance the creative environment in the UAE.
The exhibition is part of the Ministry of Culture’s strategy to support creativity, enhance the cultural and creative industries, and support various community groups, including creative individuals with special needs, thus enhancing their role in the cultural and creative scene in the UAE.
The exhibition was attended by Khalid Omar Al Khurji, Member of the Federal National Council, Mohammed Issa Al Kashf, Member of the Federal National Council, and Asmaa Mohammed Al Hammadi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Creative Development Sector at the Ministry of Culture, along with directors and representatives of government institutions in the emirate.
Centers for special needs from various emirates participated in the exhibition, including the Ajman Club for Special Needs, workshops for integrating special needs into the workforce, the Umm Al Quwain Autism Center, the Hemam Center for Professional Rehabilitation and Training for Special Needs, and the Special Education Support Center in Umm Al Quwain.
Sheikh Ali bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla viewed the creative works and handicrafts presented by special needs individuals from the participating centers, which included various artistic works and handmade items. These exhibitions also showcased their skills in perfume and scented candle making, as well as traditional crafts reflecting Emirati culture. Inclusive education centers, represented by four schools from different educational stages in Umm Al Quwain, participated by presenting artistic performances, including oud playing, art, story design using artificial intelligence, and crochet crafts.
Sheikh Ali bin Saud Al Mualla praised the efforts of the institutions supporting special needs individuals and their role in developing their abilities and skills to enable them to achieve success and effective integration into society. He emphasized that these institutions represent a leading model in promoting values of empowerment and equality, providing a supportive environment that allows special needs individuals to showcase their capabilities and contribute effectively in various fields. He also commended the creative outputs presented by the students at the exhibition, which reflected their excellence and talent in various fields.
Asmaa Mohammed Al Hammadi stated that the Ministry of Culture aims to achieve its strategic objectives, focusing on empowering and encouraging the arts and literature sector, as well as supporting the creative economy agenda through launching various projects and initiatives. She confirmed that the ministry plays a pivotal role in developing the creative sector, enhancing creative works and projects by adopting innovative and modern methods that contribute to the development of the cultural and creative landscape.
Sheikh Ali, along with Abdullah Bu Asiaba, Director of the Umm Al Quwain Cultural and Creative Center, honored the participants in the exhibition.
