Wafa Al-Muhanna, Director General of the Public Authority for the Affairs of Special Needs, confirmed that the directives of the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, require the disbursement of financial allocations to the wives of citizens under Article 8 and those included in the recent decisions and decrees of nationality revocation. However, benefits have been stopped for those proven to be involved in forgery.
In a press statement, Al-Muhanna stated that the total number of people with special needs whose nationality has been revoked is 370. Additionally, 601 caregivers, 310 women caring for individuals with special needs, and 21 employees of the Public Authority for Special Needs have had their nationalities revoked.
She revealed that the number of special needs beneficiaries receiving services from the Authority amounts to 68,000 files. She noted that 826 files were temporarily suspended due to the failure to update documents and present them to the committees. The Authority granted them two months for updates and sent notifications through the Sahel app, SMS, and WhatsApp. However, as updates were not made, the Authority was compelled by regulations and laws to temporarily suspend their files until updates are made.
