The Minister of Social Work, Childhood, and Family, Safia Bent Intaha, launched the tenth phase of cash transfers for 12,000 families of special needs individuals, with a financial envelope exceeding half a billion old Ouguiyas.
In her remarks during the launch of the initiative, Minister Safia Bent Intaha stated that supporting special needs individuals, who represent 10% of the total population, is not merely a social duty or a political wager but a human right and a government contribution towards greater independence and economic opportunity for those in dire need.
She confirmed that President Ould Ghazouani has dedicated the fourth pillar of his national ambitions to social integration, which requires doubling efforts to combat poverty, ensure food security, empower women, fight discrimination in all its forms, and promote the rights of special needs individuals.
The minister added that the general policy of the government explicitly translates these strategic directives through a series of policies and programs implemented by the government.
