In the context of the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s commitment to enhancing community participation and instilling the culture and passion for aviation among various societal groups, and coinciding with the celebration of Police Day on January 25, and the 95th anniversary of Egyptian civil aviation, the Ministry, in cooperation with Egypt Air Holding Company and in coordination with the General Administration of Human Relations and the Care of Martyrs’ Families and Police Injury Victims, as well as the coordination with the Egyptian Federation for Those with Special Needs (Capable with Differences), organized an educational tour for a group of children of police martyrs and children with special needs inside the Egypt Air Training Academy.
The tour aimed to introduce them to the various activities and services provided by the academy in different fields of civil aviation, and included the experience of flying inside the latest flight simulators available at the academy, used for training pilots and cabin crew.
They were welcomed by Dr. Sameh Hefni, the Minister of Civil Aviation, Engineer Yehia Zakaria, Chairman of Egypt Air Holding Company, Captain Walid Suleiman, Head of Egypt Air Training Academy, and Captain Moataz Fathallah, Deputy Head of the Academy.
At the beginning of the tour, Dr. Sameh Hefni welcomed the children and emphasized that this initiative comes as part of the national celebrations and reflects the ministry’s commitment to its societal role and its keenness to promote human values among different groups of society.
The Minister of Civil Aviation explained that Egypt always remembers its martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation and continuously strives to provide necessary support and care for their families and children. He highlighted the special attention given to those with special needs by providing them with comprehensive training and rehabilitation services.
The minister pointed out the importance of the role played by Egypt Air Training Academy as an educational landmark that combines theoretical and practical learning using the latest global technologies. He expressed his happiness with the participation of the children in this tour, which provided them with a unique opportunity to learn about some activities of the civil aviation sector.
The tour included several interactive activities, such as inspecting the advanced aircraft simulators used in pilot and cabin crew training, visiting classrooms equipped with the latest educational tools, and giving children the opportunity to experience flying using the simulators, learn about the nature of cabin crew work, and safety instructions on board the aircraft.
Additionally, commemorative gifts were distributed to the children, who expressed great happiness with this exceptional experience. At the end of the tour, the participants expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the Ministry of Civil Aviation for this valuable initiative, which aims to enhance the spirit of belonging and love for aviation among children by engaging them in a unique experience inside the Egypt Air Training Academy.
