Today marks the start of the celebrations for the International Day of Persons with Special Needs at Misr University for Science and Technology, under the theme “Day of Challenge.” The celebration coincides with the International Day of Persons with Special Needs on December 3rd each year.
The event is held under the patronage of Dr. Nihad Mahgoub, President of the University, and Dr. Emad Khalil, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development. It is organized by the Support Committee for Persons with Special Needs at Misr University for Science and Technology.
The segments of the celebration are presented by Rahma Khaled, an outstanding media figure with special needs who has excelled in the field of media and program presenting. She will also perform sign language interpretation for the audience of deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals, with specialists from the University’s College of Special Education.
The celebration includes honoring several outstanding individuals with special needs who have shown excellence in various fields. Additionally, there will be an entertainment segment featuring the College of Medicine, Oral and Dental Surgery, the central library, and a puppet show.
The event features speeches from various university entities, highlighting the services they provide to persons with special needs.
The “Day of Challenge” celebration at Misr University for Science and Technology includes organized tours by university student volunteers of the different activities offered by participating entities such as the College of Special Education, College of Dentistry, College of Physical Therapy, College of Pharmacy, College of Archaeology, College of Engineering, along with the central library, the Youth Welfare Committee, and the university’s scouting team.
