The Al-Thiqa Club for People with Special Needs participated in the activities of the Sharjah Heritage Days, within the Sharjah Sports Council’s pavilion. The participation included a variety of activities and events that highlight the authentic Emirati heritage.
The club’s participation included a heritage exhibition that reflects the details of the old Emirati house in all its components, in addition to cultural and heritage competitions aimed at introducing participants and visitors to Emirati customs and traditions, as well as displaying Islamic drawings and decorations that embody the beauty of Islamic art.
Dr. Khalid Omar Al Medfa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Al-Thiqa Club for People with Special Needs, confirmed that the club’s participation in this heritage event comes within the framework of its keenness to enhance national identity and instill cultural values among its members. He noted that the club works on integrating special needs individuals into the society by introducing them to the history and culture of the United Arab Emirates and enabling them to actively participate in various community activities.
He added that the club always strives to provide rich interactive experiences for its members, pointing out that these activities enhance their awareness of the UAE’s history and its rich heritage. He mentioned that the club’s participation in the Sharjah Heritage Days is part of its strategy to enhance its sports and community role in promoting national culture and achieving social integration of special needs individuals through various activities.
