The champions of the Bahrain Down Syndrome Society achieved a remarkable sports accomplishment at the Turkey Open Para Bocce Championship, a two-star event on the World Taekwondo Federation’s calendar. The champions with special needs succeeded in raising Bahrain’s flag high, securing various medals in competitions with strong participation from nine countries.
In the men’s double intellectual disability category, champion Nasser Hubeil shone brightly and won the gold medal after a strong and outstanding performance against a selection of world-class players. His colleague, Ali Hussein, achieved third place and received the bronze medal. In the women’s intellectual disability category, champion Noora Zainal secured third place, adding another bronze medal for Bahrain.
This achievement reflects the advanced level of adaptive sports in the Kingdom of Bahrain, particularly among the champions of the Bahrain Down Syndrome Society, who have proven their ability to compete globally thanks to the support provided by the association’s officials.
Coaches Tawfiq Nousair and Fajr Al-Bunali played a significant role in developing the players’ skills and enhancing their physical and technical readiness through meticulous planning, continuous training, and psychological support, contributing to these honorable results.
