In this context, the Prince Sultan Center for Special Education Services launched a number of programs and events during the past year, 2024, aimed at the rehabilitation and psychological, social, and educational care of more than 1,380 students from all categories enrolled in the center (intellectual disabilities, hearing impairments, autism, learning difficulties, slow learning and visual impairments). All services are provided to them through the center’s units, including newly established units for psychological assessment, speech and language therapy, behavior modification, and skills development.
The center also implemented the “Nama” initiative from the year 1443, which is ongoing, to raise the level of services provided to these groups by identifying cases early on through monitoring children from birth to six years old and working on their treatment to better adapt to society.
The center also collaborated with various government and specialized entities to hold the International Day of Persons with Disabilities Forum, under the theme “Empowerment for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future,” to explain the organic and psychological concepts of disability in society and clarify the role of families in providing care.
Additionally, Dr. Saeed bin Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, Director General of Education in Taif Governorate, noted the leadership’s care, attention, and support for education, with special care and attention to students with special needs, providing all possible resources for them. He praised the fruitful efforts made by the administration, represented by the Educational Affairs and Capacity Development Department (Special Education Section), affirming that caring for this group achieves comprehensive and sustainable development for all, ensuring a dignified life and supporting their integration into society.
