The Arab Center for Electronic Media held the Al-Rabee International Forum titled “Smart Education for a Sustainable Future: Combining Technology and Knowledge,” which took place via the Zoom platform over two days, Monday and Tuesday, January 27-28. The forum was attended by Dr. Fatima Al-Kawaji, a member of the Shura Council, and an elite group of speakers from the Kingdom of Bahrain and several Arab countries. The forum engaged 400 participants from across the Arab world.
On the first day, several key topics were discussed, including sharing effective experiences and expertise to equip participants with skills for employing artificial intelligence to improve education, discussing legislative and educational policies, exchanging experiences to enhance administrative, leadership, and educational supervision practices, discussing mechanisms for improving curricula and teaching, discussing performance measurement and educational evaluation mechanisms, exchanging experiences to improve education for special needs, and discussing mechanisms for aligning educational outputs with job market needs.
On the second day, discussions centered on ethical challenges, working and learning intelligently while exploring artificial intelligence, how to protect student privacy in the era of AI applications, and how to benefit from AI in daily work.
Dr. Fatima Al-Kawaji, a member of the Shura Council, stated, “We hope that the Al-Rabee International Forum will yield positive results that reflect on our development and advancement in the electronic and new media environment.” She emphasized the need for concerted efforts to achieve a professional and influential media industry that conveys the Arab world’s message flexibly.
She affirmed that this forum is an opportunity to celebrate the talents and creators, including professors and trainers, aiming to reach globally competitive Arab media based on an aware and educated society. She stressed the importance of presenting what serves the nation’s interests and enhances its values and longstanding traditions.
Ibrahim Rashid, President of the Arab Center for Electronic Media, explained that the use of modern technology in education has become essential and urgent to keep pace with development, improve educational techniques, and support teachers. He pointed out that the forum coincides with World Education Day, celebrated annually on January 24.
He highlighted the importance of focusing on the role of artificial intelligence in education, raising awareness of its significance, and investing in it correctly to expand educational horizons and provide opportunities for all. He thanked everyone who contributed to the success of this forum.
