In a distinguished humanitarian initiative, the “Shafi’an Association for Quran Education and Sciences” organized a free Umrah trip for individuals with special needs, patients, the elderly, and other social groups, accompanied by their families. The journey started from the association’s headquarters in Saudi Arabia and was accompanied by a specialized volunteer team. The effort was coordinated with the Social, Humanitarian, and Voluntary Services Agency under the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, represented by the Department of Special Needs Affairs.
Turki bin Abdullah Al-Juwaiei, a member of the Shafi’an Association, affirmed that this initiative reflects the association’s dedication to empowering the most vulnerable groups—especially individuals with special needs, patients, and the elderly—by enabling them to perform Umrah with ease during the holy month of Ramadan. He highlighted that all necessary facilities and medical services were provided.
He emphasized the association’s commitment to supporting these beloved groups, working to overcome the challenges they may face during the rituals, while offering comprehensive care and assistance from the moment of departure until their safe return to their families. This effort aligns with the aspirations of the wise leadership.
Ali Al-Sheikhi, the Executive Director of the Shafi’an Association, expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this blessed journey. He noted the profound psychological and moral impact it had on the beneficiaries and their families, strengthening their integration into society and granting them an unforgettable spiritual experience.
In a related context, Maher bin Saeed Al-Sweihri, General Director of the General Administration of Affairs for Individuals with Special Needs, stated that these efforts aim to provide top-notch services for pilgrims with special needs, the elderly, and patients, ensuring their rituals are performed with comfort and peace of mind.
Mohammed Hijan Al-Sahabi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Shafi’an Association, highlighted that this trip was designed to fulfill the dreams of targeted groups to perform Umrah and benefit from the excellent facilities provided by various governmental entities. He extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the General President for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque and to the Department of Special Needs Affairs for their outstanding efforts in offering all necessary preparations and accommodations for these cherished groups.
He also extended heartfelt thanks to the supporters and benefactors who contributed to this blessed journey, asking God to reward them generously. Furthermore, he praised the fruitful cooperation between government agencies and various sectors of the state in facilitating Umrah for individuals with special needs, the elderly, and patients.
