The seventh Scout and Guide Forum for Individuals with Special Needs concluded today under the motto “Towards a Sustainable Digital Future.” The event was held at Al-Amal Club in Al-Matar Heights, Muscat Governorate, under the patronage of Her Highness Sayyida Hajija bint Jaifar Al Said.
This forum comes as part of ongoing efforts to support and empower individuals with special needs, enhancing their opportunities for social participation and full integration into various sectors of life. It also aims to develop their skills and roles in building an advanced digital future.
The closing ceremony featured a musical performance presented by the Omar bin Al-Khattab Institute for the Blind, followed by diverse presentations from Scout and Guide units affiliated with special education schools. The event concluded with honoring participants, supporting entities, and contributors to the forum.
Rashida bint Ali Al-Zadjali, Head of the Development and Membership Division for Guides, explained that the forum witnessed the participation of 150 Scouts and Guides, alongside 50 leaders and supervisors from special education schools. She noted that the forum serves as a vital platform for participants to exchange experiences and ideas, raising awareness about issues concerning individuals with special needs. It highlighted their potential in digital technologies, paving the way for full inclusion and effective contribution to building an advanced, inclusive digital society.
