The Friends of Determination Association in Benghazi has launched a photo contest for children and youth with Down Syndrome.
The contest began on February 19 and will continue until March 21. The goal is to raise awareness about Down Syndrome and highlight the abilities and potentials of this special group within the community.
Mohamed Saeed Al Warfali, the Chairman of the Association, told Libyan News that the contest seeks to encourage parents to proudly share photos of their children, while also promoting the integration of children with Down Syndrome into society and showcasing their active roles.
He added that the contest also aims to motivate the community to appreciate this group and involve them more in social, sports, and cultural activities.
Al Warfali emphasized the importance of parents’ participation in this contest, saying: “Let us all be part of celebrating our children with Down Syndrome.”
The contest has seen a wide response from parents who have quickly involved their children in this initiative, reflecting the importance of community inclusion.
The results of the contest will be announced at a closing ceremony on March 21, coinciding with World Down Syndrome Day, as part of the Special Ramadan Olympics Night program.
