The periodic meeting of the Board of Directors of the Global Sports Abilities Organization, which began its work in Sharjah, commended the UAE’s role in developing services for special needs individuals.
The “Global Sports Abilities Organization” is concerned with organizing sports for individuals with mobility impairments after integration, in cooperation with the International Federation for Sports of the Physically Disabled and the International Federation for Cerebral Palsy Sports.
The two-day meeting discusses the programs and activities of the Global Games 2025 and 2027, the Youth Global Games 2026 and 2028, the Beach Games 2025 and 2027, and the Guttmann Games, founded by the pioneer of the global special needs sports movement.
The meeting is expected to witness the signing of several agreements between the federation and the host countries and cities for upcoming events, primarily Turkey and Indonesia.
At the beginning of their sessions, the participants expressed their gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, for his attention to special needs individuals through the regional offices of the federation and the regional office of the International Federation of the Physically Disabled.
