The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, through its implementing partner Yamani Foundation for Development and Humanitarian Works, distributed educational supplies and classroom furniture in literacy and special needs centers in Al Mahrah Governorate today. This was part of the second phase of the project “Responding to the Needs of Local Capacity Development for the Education of Literacy and Special Needs Students.”
The project includes the distribution of classroom furniture, educational materials, and modern devices to improve the educational environment for 6,527 beneficiaries. These beneficiaries include 2,389 students from literacy and adult education centers, with the remainder being students from special needs centers in the governorates of Aden, Lahj, Al-Dhale, Shabwah, Hadramaut, and Al Mahrah. The project aims to enhance educational opportunities in communities that have difficulty accessing traditional education, particularly for those benefiting from literacy programs and individuals with special needs.
First Deputy Governor of Al Mahrah, Mukhtar Al-Jaafari, praised the support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center for its contribution to the development of the education sector for literacy and special needs.
Dr. Najwa Fadel, Executive Director of the Care and Rehabilitation Fund for the Disabled, emphasized the importance of this support in contributing to the training and qualification of individuals with special needs.
Chairperson of the Al Mahrah Association for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Intellectual Disabilities, Khair Douama Yaqout, noted that these resources will help facilitate information delivery to students, enhance educational efficiency, and assist teachers in performing their noble duties.
