The Italian Ambassador to Kuwait, Lorenzo Morini, commended Kuwait’s efforts in supporting and empowering individuals with special needs across all aspects of life. This statement was made during his reception of the Kuwaiti delegation that will participate in the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Turin, Italy, from March 8 to 15.
The Italian Ambassador emphasized his embassy’s commitment to facilitating all procedures for the Kuwaiti delegation and creating a conducive environment for their participation and enjoyment of the sports competition. He highlighted the deep bonds that unite Italy and Kuwait.
He explained that the city of Turin, located in northern Italy, is known for its beautiful climate, nature, and rich historical, cultural, and civilizational heritage. It also has sports facilities capable of hosting major international championships, including the 2006 Winter Olympics.
The ambassador expressed pride in his country hosting this global sports event and joy at the participation of Kuwaiti athletes with intellectual disabilities, wishing them success and achievement, and continuing Kuwait’s distinguished sports journey for those with special needs.
