The Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila, emphasized the importance of the Seventh Gulf Theatre Festival for Special Needs, which highlights their creativity and enhances their artistic and cultural presence in society.
This statement was made in a press release after she bid farewell to the Kuwaiti delegation participating in the festival held in Qatar from November 27 to December 3, 2024, coinciding with the International Day of Persons with Special Needs.
Al-Huwaila said that the participation of Kuwaitis in this event reflects the state’s interest in supporting the issues of individuals with special needs. She noted that the festival serves as a significant platform to showcase their talents and abilities, contributing to raising societal awareness about their issues and promoting the concept of inclusivity in all fields.
She added that Kuwait continues its ongoing support to empower individuals with special needs by providing opportunities for them to participate in regional and international events, reinforcing its position as a country that supports innovation and creativity.
The delegation includes a group of talented individuals with special needs, including actors Mubarak Al-Ajami and Abdulrahman Al-Humoud, along with actress Souad Al-Husseini. The play is written by Yahya Abdulridha and directed by Ahmed Al-Awadi.
