Kuwait, represented by the Public Authority for Special Needs Affairs, will participate in the 7th Theatrical Festival for People with Special Needs of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, held in Qatar from November 27 to December 3. This event coincides with the International Day of Persons with Special Needs, celebrated annually on December 3.
The delegation is headed by the Director of Public Relations, Duha Al-Khamees, and includes Zainab Al-Enezi, the Functional Monitoring and Training Supervisor and Acting Technical Office Supervisor.
In a press statement, the Authority announced that Kuwait’s participation aims to integrate people with special needs into the Gulf community, raise awareness about their capabilities, and highlight their artistic talents alongside those without special needs. Theater, being the “Father of Arts,” holds immense benefits for those without special needs, so imagine the impact when individuals with special needs excel and showcase their talents in this remarkable and significant field with its valuable and educational social message.
The Authority emphasized its continuous efforts to instill confidence in our children with special needs by highlighting their talents and abilities in the theatrical field. This biennial festival, held in one of the friendly and brotherly countries, provides them an opportunity to express their issues uniquely through artistic work, integrating them into society. It also offers a chance for theater workers in the Gulf to meet, representing a valuable platform for our cherished special needs community.
The Authority underscored Kuwait’s dedication to empowering our children with special needs in their creative and artistic endeavors, encouraging them to be active members of society. They strive diligently to leave a positive mark for their families, community, and country.
