The Zayed Higher Organization for Special Needs has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority concerning the empowerment of beneficiaries of the social support program.
The memorandum aims to identify and define the necessary training, rehabilitation, and professional programs to enable beneficiaries with special needs who receive social support to integrate into the labor market. It also aims to identify the target group of beneficiaries for the agreed-upon programs, define the conditions and criteria for enrolling them in these programs, and establish electronic linkage between both parties.
The memorandum of understanding was signed on behalf of the Zayed Higher Organization for Special Needs by His Excellency Abdullah Al-Humaidan, Secretary General of the organization, and on behalf of the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority by Her Excellency Dr. Bushra Abdullah Al-Mulla, Director General of the authority, at the organization’s headquarters, in the presence of several leaders from both sides.
Under the memorandum, both parties will exchange data related to beneficiaries with special needs through electronic linkage, with the authority conducting evaluations based on the reports issued by the organization to assess the qualifications of applicants, types of disabilities, and their ability to work. The authority will also grant priority in the “Zayed Higher” programs to those who meet the criteria and will involve individuals with special needs in the organization’s volunteer and community programs and any training programs that enhance their integration into society. Additionally, family members will be included in the caregiving programs provided by the organization.
The Zayed Higher Organization for Special Needs will share with the authority a list of available rehabilitation and training programs, final reports on the status of beneficiaries, issue special needs cards for beneficiaries if necessary, provide a suitable environment and enable communication with them, offer consultancy services as needed, and present social educational workshops and programs for beneficiary families to develop and enhance their skills in dealing with people with special needs.
His Excellency Abdullah Al-Humaidan praised the role of the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority, which provides support to low-income families through the Abu Dhabi Social Support Program and empowerment programs to achieve a decent life for families. He emphasized the strategic role of the authority in supporting and empowering beneficiaries to integrate them into the labor market.
He affirmed that the Zayed Higher Organization for Special Needs is always keen to build bridges of cooperation with various national institutions and entities, with the aim of developing its services and supporting its programs that work on empowering and integrating different categories of special needs individuals into society and labor markets, thus enhancing institutional efforts and partnerships among government entities in the context of efforts to promote social stability and financial independence for families, reflecting effective cooperation among entities.
Her Excellency Dr. Bushra Abdullah Al-Mulla commended the significant role played by the Zayed Higher Organization for Special Needs in empowering individuals with special needs and integrating them into society to achieve the principle of equal opportunities. She confirmed that the memorandum of understanding will ensure that beneficiaries with special needs receive opportunities and programs that enhance their social contribution and integrate them into the labor market in a sustainable environment.
She stressed the authority’s endeavor to build strategic partnerships with various institutions to provide a social safety net for beneficiary families in Abu Dhabi and achieve its goals of financially independent and socially active families.
She said that through this joint cooperation, it is possible to work on enhancing cooperation in preparing empowerment programs for special needs individuals to support this important segment of society and achieve a positive and sustainable impact through an integrated approach based on partnership and cooperation in line with the vision of the social sector in Abu Dhabi.
