Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaileh, received the Kuwaiti delegation participating in the seventh theatrical festival for individuals with special needs from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held in Qatar from November 27 to December 3, coinciding with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3 each year.
Al-Huwaileh praised the efforts of the participating delegation, especially the artistic team, which included actors with special needs, actors without special needs, the writer, director, and sound and editing technicians.
It is worth mentioning that the theatrical festival always focuses on the diverse theatrical talents of individuals with special needs in the GCC countries, working on integrating them into cultural and artistic community activities and events. The festival’s message is to empower and integrate individuals with special needs by showcasing their artistic talents and abilities in social and cultural activities in the field of theater, in all its forms, providing them the opportunity to achieve their dreams and share their talents and abilities in theatrical arts.
Al-Huwaileh congratulated the winners of the seventh Gulf theatrical festival award for creativity and excellence for individuals with special needs in the GCC countries, which was awarded to Abdulrahman Mohammed Abdulrahman from Kuwait. Mashari Al-Haribi and heads of delegations of the participating countries were also honored for their support of the festival. Additionally, the best actors with special needs from Kuwait were awarded to Mubarak Mohammed Al-Ajmi and Youssef Tariq Hussein.
