The General Assembly meeting of the Board of Directors of the Children with Special Needs Association was held, chaired by Khadija bint Nasser Al-Sa’atia at the association’s headquarters in Al-Udhaiba, under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Development.
The meeting included discussions and presentations of the agenda items within the prepared programs, which align with the upcoming phase, and reviewed the latest developments and aspirations that the association aims to achieve. The meeting also sought to understand the visions and goals to build a bridge of rapport between individuals with special needs and the community.
Khadija Al-Sa’atia extended her gratitude and appreciation to the former board members for their sincere efforts during their tenure and the achievements made on the ground. She expressed her hope that the new board would support the service and care of the association’s children and develop programs that would serve them and their parents in the coming years.
Members of the General Assembly gathered to elect the new Board of Directors, with 13 candidates running for membership.
The voting resulted in the election of 12 candidates. Khadija bint Nasser Al-Sa’atia was elected as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the upcoming term. Dr. Lubna bint Masoud Al-Kindi was elected as Vice-Chairperson. The board members include Walid Al-Balushi, Rabab Al-Ajmi, Yousef Al-Najadi, Salem Al-Saidi, Suleiman Al-Mutaani, Dr. Rashid Al-Khatri, Abdullah Al-Sudairi, Amal Al-Kindi, Ibrahim Al-Najadi, and Haifa Al-Fouri.
At the end of the elections, Khadija Al-Sa’atia thanked the General Assembly members and the new Board of Directors for their trust and election of her as Chairperson. She expressed her gratitude and appreciation for their confidence in her.
