The efforts of Al-Hidd Primary Boys School in nurturing and developing the abilities of students with special needs have culminated in success as three of their autistic students have transitioned from their special needs class to regular classes. This achievement comes after noticeable improvements in their cognitive, academic, behavioral, and social abilities, in line with the Ministry of Education’s policy of integrating students with special needs into public schools to promote the right to education for all.
Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Jumaa, Minister of Education, praised the efforts of the school and its special education teachers, including Ms. Haya Jassim Hassan, Ms. Fatima Falah Al-Asfour, Ms. Fatima Ibrahim Ashour, and Ms. Nisaim Khalifa Al-Muqhawy, who played a prominent role in achieving this milestone under the supervision of the school principal, Ms. Hanadi Mubarak Isa.
Ms. Hanadi Mubarak Isa, the principal of Al-Hidd Primary Boys School, explained that the school offers specialized educational programs to develop the abilities of autistic students in Arabic, mathematics, English, and science, while also focusing on nurturing their personal and creative aspects in the artistic, scientific, and social fields through the “I Am Creative” project. This helps them build independent, confident personalities capable of positively integrating into society.
She pointed out that the “Future Champions” class for autistic students at the school employs various educational strategies, including learning through play to encourage interaction and comprehension in an enjoyable way, individual instruction that considers their differences, and a focus on 21st-century skills that enhance independence and effective communication. The class currently has eight students who are being prepared to transition to regular classes in the near future, alongside their peers.
