Today, Cairo University welcomed a committee from the Recruitment and Mobilization Administration, represented by the Giza Recruitment Zone, to provide services related to finalizing the military status of university students with special needs, including those with mobility and visual challenges. This initiative, attended by Dr. Ahmed Ragab, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and Brigadier General Ahmed Aboul Fotouh, Deputy Director of the Giza Recruitment Zone, reflects the university’s commitment to addressing challenges and facilitating services for individuals with special needs.
Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadeq, President of Cairo University, emphasized the institution’s significant focus on supporting students with special needs, commending the exemplary national role of the Armed Forces in advancing Egyptian universities and fostering education. He also praised their ongoing efforts in supporting and empowering individuals with special needs.
Dr. Ahmed Ragab noted that the university’s reception of the recruitment committee aligns with directives from the university president to assist and support students with special needs. The aim is to ease their challenges, provide conducive learning conditions, and ensure they continue their education without barriers. This reflects the university’s belief in their abilities and talents, despite their unique circumstances.
It’s worth mentioning that in January 2022, Cairo University inaugurated a Services and Support Center for Students with Disabilities. This aligns with the university’s vision to achieve the integration of students into the university community and promote inclusivity among faculty, administrative staff, and students. The center offers a hub for activities and initiatives that support students with disabilities, removing obstacles both within and beyond the university environment, ensuring equal opportunities in education for all.
