In its ongoing efforts to empower special needs individuals and integrate them into the labor market, the Human Development Association for Social Development organized a remarkable closing ceremony for the field training of 20 male and female students with special needs. This marks the sixth batch of beneficiaries aimed at qualifying and employing them. The event was held under the patronage of University Director Dr. Dina Al-Millim and in cooperation with the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science.
The ceremony, held at the Kuwait University Theater of the Faculty of Science, was attended by a distinguished group of officials, employers, and supporting partners, as well as the graduates’ families. The achievements and skills acquired by the trainees during the qualification period were showcased. The ceremony also included a presentation highlighting previous batches that the association has prepared, qualified, and employed in the labor market since the beginning of this initiative, titled “Partners for Their Employment,” which started in 2019.
Dr. Ghaleb Al-Asimi, Vice Chairman of the Human Development Association for Social Development, emphasized that this initiative aligns with the association’s vision to enhance the economic independence of special needs individuals by providing specialized vocational training and sustainable employment opportunities.
He pointed out that the association has successfully employed a large number of graduates in partnership with various entities in both the public and private sectors. He noted that the total number of students enrolled in this initiative since its inception reached 258, trained and employed in five batches, with 82% of the total enrollees being employed.
