As part of its medical services to assist individuals with special needs and alleviate their suffering, the Directorate of Social Solidarity in Qena, in collaboration with the Orman Association, distributed 68 medical hearing aids in cooperation with civil society organizations across the villages and centers of Qena Governorate.
Magdy Hassan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Solidarity in Qena, stated that these deserving and priority cases were identified through field research in collaboration with the Orman Association. He emphasized the full support provided to NGOs and civil society organizations to uplift and improve the lives of the most in-need families across the governorate.
In a related context, Major General Mamdouh Shaaban, Director General of Orman, affirmed that distributing the medical hearing aids serves as a developmental project to enhance the capabilities of individuals with special needs in all aspects of life, enabling them to become well-adjusted individuals in their work and social relationships, and boosting their morale and sense of responsibility without being a burden on others.
Shaaban noted that Orman’s substantial support is part of the association’s efforts to bolster the civil and social work system in Qena, especially in the most underprivileged areas, including villages and hamlets. This is part of the association’s active contributions to improving the level of services it provides across the governorate. Additionally, in collaboration with the Directorate of Social Solidarity, Orman has provided (16,163) prosthetic devices and (7,734) medical hearing aids over the past years.
It is noteworthy that the association in Qena Governorate has implemented numerous charitable projects. These include, in addition to developing impoverished villages, the provision of small and micro-projects for widows and families in need, as well as assisting vulnerable individuals with heart and eye diseases by performing necessary surgeries and dispensing essential medications through top medical institutions in the governorate and Cairo. The association also distributes seasonal aid to vulnerable groups in the governorate, such as Ramadan food packages, winter blankets, and sacrificial meat.
