Municipal Council member, Eng. Farah Al-Roumi, raised a question regarding the activation of monitoring and inspection concerning compliance with accessibility requirements for special needs individuals in buildings.
Al-Roumi inquired about the mechanism for conducting inspection campaigns to investigate violations of accessibility requirements for special needs individuals, asking, “Has the judicial seizure been applied regarding violations of accessibility requirements for special needs individuals? If the answer is no, why has the judicial seizure not been activated in this regard?”
Al-Roumi demanded to know the number of judicial seizures, the duration since their activation, and the follow-up mechanism, as well as the types of violations issued. She stated that the question reaffirms the importance of activating the role of monitoring and inspection concerning compliance with accessibility requirements for special needs individuals and reducing violations in this regard.
She added, “Have analytical studies been conducted to examine the effectiveness of applying judicial seizure concerning violations of accessibility requirements for special needs individuals?” She also asked about the number of technical staff members who have obtained judicial seizure licenses and their geographical distribution across different governorates.
