Dean of Student Affairs at the Arabian Gulf University, Dr. Aseel Al-Saleh, participated in the 20th meeting of deans of admissions and registration at universities and higher education institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The meeting was hosted by Kuwait University at the Sabah Al-Salem University City under the theme “Enhancing Academic Cooperation and Developing Admission Systems.”
The meeting featured three main sessions addressing critical issues in the fields of admissions and registration. Participants from GCC countries discussed ways to attract international students, develop admission systems to enhance competitiveness, and the role of deans of admissions and registration in improving international university ranking indicators. They also reviewed recommendations from previous meetings and set future visions for developing the educational process.
The meeting also reviewed guidelines for welcoming students with special needs and mechanisms for providing the necessary support, in addition to highlighting successful models for developing admissions and registration policies.
Participants in the meeting presented a set of recommendations emphasizing the importance of enhancing academic cooperation among GCC universities, developing admission mechanisms in line with the aspirations of higher education and the labor market, and stressing the need to continue holding these meetings to exchange experiences and expertise among Gulf universities.
Dr. Al-Saleh highlighted the vital role that GCC universities play in exchanging expertise and building knowledge and innovation-based communities in line with labor market needs.
She also emphasized the importance of these GCC meetings in enhancing academic cooperation and developing admissions and registration policies, contributing to improving the outcomes of higher education institutions in GCC countries, in line with changing global ranking standards. She pointed out that admissions and registration systems are fundamental factors in ensuring the quality of education and preparing generations capable of facing future challenges, affirming the effectiveness of unifying visions and mechanisms to achieve sustainable development.
