The Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination has launched the “Al-Wathiqa” project in collaboration with Trends Research and Advisory. The project aims to explore the history of the United Arab Emirates through stories narrated by individuals with special needs as part of the “Talented People of Determination” initiative, which supports their talents in acting, media, arts, music, and more.
The “Al-Wathiqa” project seeks to empower people of determination by involving them in media and national documentation through a podcast series consisting of 25 short episodes, each lasting from 5 to 8 minutes. Five presenters with special needs share stories about the history of the UAE, covering various topics such as cultural heritage and historical landmarks.

The podcast highlights important cultural practices and the role of women in preserving heritage, as well as social traditions such as marriage and celebrations. By focusing on these aspects, the project aims to convey values to younger generations while discussing the economic and social development that has unified the Emirati society.
To ensure high-quality content, the presenters received intensive training in presentation skills and media techniques. This preparation helps them deliver creative and professional episodes. The project also includes digital seminars and discussion sessions with the audience to enhance community engagement on podcast topics.
The initiative not only highlights historical milestones but also shines a light on Emirati figures who have contributed to shaping the nation’s identity. By presenting these stories in an engaging and simple manner, the initiative aims to spread historical knowledge among all age groups, especially the youth.
The episodes focus on ancient cultural practices and significant landmarks such as Qasr Al Hosn and Al Jahili Fort. They emphasize heritage preservation by highlighting the roles of women and social traditions. The goal is to instill national pride by raising awareness about Emirati heritage preservation and deepening appreciation for the past.
