Dubai will host the 7th edition of the International Expo for Special Needs Individuals from October 6 to 8 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event will feature around 270 international exhibitors, brands, and rehabilitation centers from 50 countries.
In addition, several local and international government agencies will participate, benefiting from the expo’s technologies to improve the quality of services provided to their special needs clients.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, Chief Executive and Chairman of Emirates Airline and Group, and Patron of the expo, stated:
“The 6th edition of the expo was a significant achievement, with the participation of over 250 exhibitors, brands, and rehabilitation centers from more than 50 countries around the world. The event attracted more than 15,000 visitors from 70 countries.”
He highlighted that the previous edition of the expo focused on crucial issues such as autism spectrum disorder, especially given the noticeable annual increase in the number of children diagnosed with autism, posing a real challenge for any society. The importance of inclusion in the education sector and the need to enhance facilities and services to facilitate travel and tourism for millions of special needs individuals locally and globally were also emphasized.
The expo also aims to provide modern technologies and best practices in rehabilitation, emphasizing the need to promote innovation in technologies that improve the quality of life for more than 50 million special needs individuals living in the Middle East.
His Highness added, “By hosting this unique expo in the region, Dubai has confirmed its position as a global hub for assistive technologies and rehabilitation services, and as a city that cares for its people and leaves no one behind.”
Organized by Ned Al Sheba Public Relations and Exhibition Organization, the event will feature technological products, some of which are being displayed for the first time in the Middle East, to empower and enhance the capabilities of special needs individuals.
The expo, which is the first of its kind in the Middle East, is the largest platform for manufacturers and distributors of assistive products. It also provides these technologies and rehabilitation initiatives to government bodies, rehabilitation centers, and health and educational institutions that deal with special needs individuals.
The advanced technologies, exceeding 4,500 global techniques, serve mobility, visual, auditory, intellectual disabilities, and autism spectrum disorder, playing a crucial role in empowering special needs individuals who constitute 10-15% of the population in each country.
