Deputy Abdul Basit Al-Kabariti announced his commitment to addressing the issues and affairs of special needs individuals in Aqaba Governorate and the nation. This commitment reflects the guarantees provided by the Constitution of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the care of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein for this honored segment of the nation’s citizens.
He pledged to make every effort to establish an office for the Higher Council for Special Needs in the governorate, which has a population exceeding 240,000. He also aims to organize visits by specialized medical committees to the governorate to ease the burden on special needs individuals and exempt them from traveling to the capital or other governorates, which entails significant hardship, effort, and financial costs that most cannot afford.
Deputy Al-Kabariti stated that the nation’s leadership handles the issues of special needs individuals with parental compassion, stemming from the high ethics and great responsibility of the Hashemites. This approach aims to create suitable and accessible conditions for the lives of special needs individuals across the entire nation. This should be our guiding principle, inspired by the Prophet’s saying, “The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion, and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever.”
During a dialogue session attended by several active special needs individuals and their families, hosted by the All Jordan Youth Commission in Aqaba, Deputy Al-Kabariti expressed his astonishment at the painful reality faced by this segment of the nation’s citizens. He emphasized the importance of this issue, urging everyone to make efforts and join hands to sound the alarm and reorganize priorities, based on his duty as a deputy and the role entrusted to the government through its concerned arms.
Deputy Al-Kabariti affirmed his support for the issues of special needs individuals in the governorate and his commitment to conveying all demands and observations to the relevant government authorities. He praised the efforts of the All Jordan Youth Commission, as this meeting embodied the spirit of community solidarity, enhanced social justice, and fostered communication between decision-makers and citizens, towards building a more inclusive and equitable society for all its members.
The royal messages to all governments have emphasized giving special needs individuals the utmost attention, care, and protection of their dignity and humanity, ensuring their right to work and a decent life. Therefore, the official and civil institutions in Aqaba Governorate are required to fulfill their constitutional duties in the best possible way, providing more support and assistance to this targeted group to invest in their potential and train their cadres to move towards productivity and self-reliance.
Deputy Al-Kabariti stated that addressing the issues of special needs individuals is a national effort and duty that requires providing resources at all levels to support these groups and meet their needs. He proudly noted that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is at the forefront of attention to special needs individuals as a social issue and policy-making in this regard, both among the countries of the region and globally. This has led some countries in the region to seek to benefit from Jordanian expertise in this field.
