The Faculty of Special Education at Misr University for Science and Technology is organizing the “First International Conference on Special Education” on November 16 and 17, 2024, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the faculty’s establishment.
In this context, the faculty has partnered with Jasour magazine and website to be the official media sponsor of the conference. Jasour is recognized as a specialized media outlet in the field of special needs, offering both digital and print publications in Arabic and English, along with a Braille edition for visually impaired readers.
The conference will take place over the upcoming Saturday and Sunday, November 16–17, 2024, with the esteemed presence of Sheikha Jamila bint Mohammed Al Qasimi (Chairperson of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services), as the guest of honor, and Mona Abdul Karim Al Yafei (Director General of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services in the UAE) to share insights from Sharjah’s leading experience in the care and rehabilitation of individuals with special needs.
The conference will cover numerous significant topics in the field of special education, selected under the supervision of an academic committee comprising experts in special education and the integration and rehabilitation of individuals with special needs.
On this occasion, Dr. Sherif Shaheen, Dean of the Faculty of Special Education and the conference chairman, expressed his great pleasure in collaborating with Jasour magazine and website. He highlighted their exceptional media services in covering the conference activities and supporting critical issues concerning the special needs community. Dr. Shaheen pointed out the increasing attention given by political leadership and government entities in recent times to addressing the needs of individuals with special needs.
Emphasizing the conference’s role in fostering this effort by presenting visions from leading experts and thought leaders in this field. Additionally, journalist Ashraf Gaber, Editor-in-Chief and Executive Director of Jasour, stated that the magazine’s participation as the media sponsor of the “First International Conference on Special Education” aligns perfectly with Jasour’s mission to engage with all activities and initiatives related to individuals with special needs.
He underscored the impactful academic, scientific, and societal role played by the Faculty of Special Education at Misr University for Science and Technology. This is particularly vital in addressing the gaps that Egypt and the Arab world aim to bridge in dealing with special needs issues, ensuring services align with those offered in developed countries. The conference will be held at the Opera House of Misr University for Science and Technology, featuring distinguished academics and specialists in special education, inclusion, and rehabilitation for individuals with special needs.
